Services Offered at Our Medical Day Care Program in NJ

Our Medical Day Care offers more than just supervision — we provide personalized care and developmental support in a nurturing environment. Our services include:

  • Skilled nursing care (medications, monitoring, feeding support)
  • Transportation to and from home with age-appropriate car seats and wheelchair access
  • Nutritious meals and care essentials including breakfast, lunch, snacks, formula, and diapers
  • Age-appropriate play and peer interaction to encourage social development
  • Child assessments to ensure safe feeding and developmental planning
  • On-site therapy as needed, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy
  • Educational support, including coordination with your school district and access to 1:1 tutoring when required

With a minimum staff-to-child ratio of 1:3, your child receives focused, attentive care throughout the day.

Medical Day Care FAQs

Our team can walk you through the application or authorization process and help you determine what coverage options are available.

To qualify for a medical daycare, a child must have a skilled nursing need. This includes conditions that require ongoing monitoring, medication, or medical equipment throughout the day, such as:

  • Feeding tubes (G-tubes or NG-tubes)
  • Seizure disorders
  • Severe asthma or other chronic respiratory conditions
  • Cardiac conditions
  • Tracheostomies
  • Ventilator support
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Diabetes
  • Medically complex genetic or neurological disorders

Yes. Our social workers collaborate with families and school districts to ensure educational needs are addressed. If appropriate, your child may receive 1:1 tutoring with a Bancroft teacher during their time at Medical Day Care.

Every 60 days, our team meets with you to talk about your child’s progress and update their care as needed. This includes input from our Director of Nursing, therapists, nutritionist, social worker, and child life specialist — and always includes your voice as a parent.

We provide safe, reliable transportation using medical vans equipped with age-appropriate car seats, booster seats, wheelchair access, and a Weisman Children’s staff member accompanying children. Our goal is to make getting to care as simple and safe as possible.
