My child has developmental delays; would they qualify for Medical Day Care?

A child must have a skilled nursing need to qualify for MDC. Examples of this include a feeding tube, medications and diagnoses requiring constant monitoring, such as severe asthma or seizure disorder.

My child’s school district was unable to support my child’s medical needs, is there an option for school at Medical Day Care?

Our social worker will work with your family and school district, and if necessary, will provide 1:1 tutoring with a Bancroft teacher while at Medical Day Care.

Will there be enough staff to ensure my child is cared for appropriately?

We have a minimum staff: patient ratio of 1:3. This includes RNs, LPNs, Nursing Assistants and Child Life specialists who are with the children throughout the day.

My child’s PCP recommended a physical therapy evaluation, can that be done at Medical Day Care?

Yes! Our therapists are able to evaluate patients for occupational, physical and speech therapy and provide services while your child attends MDC. Our speech therapists will also evaluate our patients to ensure their diet level is safe and appropriate as necessary.

My child gives me a difficult time taking their medications at home, how do I know the staff will be able to get my child to take them at Medical Day Care?

Our Child Life Team will utilize their expertise to develop a plan that works for your child and provide positive reinforcement.

How will I know what progress my child is making at Medical Day Care?

Every 60 days, we hold an Interdisciplinary Team Meeting to review your child’s progress and plan of care. This includes our Director of Nursing, Social Worker, Nutritionist, Child Life Specialist and summaries from our therapists.

How can my child get to your facility?

We provide transport on medical vans. We provide age appropriate car seats, booster seats and wheelchair access.

My child has an appointment today, are they able to attend half day?

We encourage families to schedule appointments early in the morning or later in the afternoon as our patients are required to attend full days (at least 6 consecutive hours).

Do I need to send lunch with my child? Do I need to send diapers?

We provide breakfast, lunch and snacks; all meals are planned by a nutritionist. We also supply diapers and wipes for our kids.
