Volunteer Program

Volunteers at Weisman Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital (WCRH) are an integral part of the WCRH team.  As part of the WCRH team, volunteers compliment our service providers by interacting directly with the patients and their families, or through a variety of other opportunities available.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Therapeutic Recreation/Child Life

Outpatient Therapeutic Recreation Programs (Adapted Aquatics, etc)

Pet Therapy (18 years & older with a registered therapy dog)

Nursing Department

Human Resources

Outpatient Waiting Room Recreation

Special Events

Clerical Support

Lobby Greeters

Medical Daycare (Must be 18 years or older)

Rehabilitation/Therapy

 Individuals interested in learning more about a particular a particular discipline (i.e. Speech, Physical, Occupational, and Recreation Therapy) for educational purposes must fill out the Discipline Specific Volunteer Application below.  Must be 18 years or older.
 

Volunteer Requirements:

Be at least 16 years of age

Commit to a minimum of 2 hours a week, duration of 3 months.

Complete the application process in full which includes a:

-   Health clearance 

-   Background check

-  Fingerprint clearance (for Medical Daycare Volunteers only)

- Volunteer orientation
