Weisman Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital Wins Percy Award for Its Neonatal Abstinence Program
Weisman Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital is the 2010 recipient of the Percy Award for “Excellence in Planning and Marketing” for its Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) program. In addition, because Weisman’s program was so unique, they will also be presented an award for “Best Planning” for a small hospital. The award presentation ceremony will be held Wednesday, December 8th at 11 a.m. at Weisman Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, 92 Brick Road, Marlton, NJ.
Weisman’s exceptional marketing efforts included a landmark event which connected all those involved in every facet of care for substance abusing pregnant women and their newborns – a comprehensive interaction that had never before occurred. This regional perinatal substance abuse summit “Improving Care for Women and their Newborns through Provider Partnerships,” was held in cooperation with the Southern New Jersey Perinatal Cooperative, New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and the Office for Prevention of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities-New Jersey Department of Human Services. It was also attended by the Assistant Commissioner for Addictions, the Commissioner of Health and Human Services, the Director of Childhood Intervention and many other New Jersey state officials, as well as representatives from individual methadone treatment centers, hospitals and the Division of Youth and Family Services.
