Professional Development Volunteer

A professional development volunteer is one who is required to volunteer for a course requirement and/or credit. They will complete the volunteer process and volunteer orientation. In this position they are exploring their field of interest but will also perform other volunteer responsibilities. This is NOT considered an internship.

All scheduling and required school documentation will be signed by the volunteer manager. The volunteer manager’s role is to confirm volunteer hours and may evaluate a volunteer’s performance.


Professional Development Volunteer Requirements

  • Enrolled in a college/university
  • Complete volunteer hours within semester
  • Course agreement signed by teacher and evaluated by volunteer manager
  • Health clearance (Physical, immunization record, TB screening)
  • Background check
  • Fingerprint clearance (for Medical Daycare Volunteers 18 and older)
  • Drug screening (for Medical Daycare Volunteers only)
  • Volunteer orientation
