Release Date: April 2, 2020
As you are aware, the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has emerged in the United States. As always, we take infection prevention very seriously at Weisman Children’s. We are following CDC recommendations and are communicating with the NJ Department of Health for guidance.
At this time, we will not allow anyone who has traveled the past 14 days to regions identified as an area of high risk -OR- had close contact with a person with confirmed 2019 Novel Coronavirus Infection (COVID-19) in the past 14 days to enter our facilities. We continue to restrict visitation for anyone showing signs of illness.
In addition, we strongly urge all families to limit visitation to immediate family or guardians whenever possible. We continue to restrict visitation for anyone showing signs of illness. In addition, we are now limiting visitation to 1 parent/caregiver per patient at a time. We understand this may be a hardship for many of you, but this decision was made for the health and safety of everyone. As part of our continued vigilance, we are screening each employee/patient/caregiver/visitor each day/visit before we allow them into our facilities.
Our outpatient services have converted to telehealth services and our medical day care patients are receiving weekly deliveries of food, supplies and activities while also receiving telehealth services to ensure our children continue their care in a safe and effective manner. As we continue to adjust our services to meet your needs within the current environment, we understand this may be an inconvenience for you but please know we have your family’s best interest and safety in mind. We apologize in advance and ask for your patience as we work together to remain safe at this time but continue to provide the care your children deserve.
Please contact us if you have additional questions/concerns. We will continue to provide you with updates when appropriate. Thank you
