Release Date: June 1, 2020
As you are aware, the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has emerged in the United States. As always, we take infection prevention very seriously at Weisman Children’s. We are following CDC recommendations and are communicating with the NJ Department of Health for guidance.
At this time, anyone entering any of our facilities will undergo a COVID-19 screening that includes a temperature check. We continue to restrict visitation for anyone showing any other signs of illness.
In our hospital, we strongly urge all families to limit visitation to immediate family or guardians whenever possible. In addition, we are now limiting visitation to 1 parent/caregiver per patient at a time. We understand this may be a hardship for many of you, but this decision was made for the health and safety of everyone.
Our outpatient services, which converted to a telehealth model, have now begun to reintroduce in person therapy sessions for patients and families that did not have the option for telehealth services. Please refer to our Current Outpatient Therapy Services for more details.
Medical day care children and families are receiving weekly deliveries of food, supplies and activities while also receiving telehealth services to ensure our children continue their care in a safe and effective manner.
As we continue to adjust our services to meet your needs within the current environment, we understand this may be an inconvenience for you but please know we have your family’s best interest and safety in mind. We apologize in advance and ask for your patience as we work together to remain safe at this time but continue to provide the care your children deserve.
Please contact us if you have additional questions/concerns. We will continue to provide you with updates when appropriate.
