COVID-19 Program Changes and Visitor Information

Release Date: March 3, 2021

At Weisman Children’s, the health and safety of our patients, families and staff are a top priority. We are following CDC recommendations and are communicating with the NJ Department of Health for guidance with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this time, anyone entering any of our facilities will undergo a COVID-19 screening that includes a temperature check. We continue to restrict visitation for anyone showing any other signs of illness.

In our hospital, we strongly urge all families to limit visitation to immediate family or guardians whenever possible. Weisman Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital is following the New Jersey Hospital Association visitation code system for the protection of everyone. Based on the current index, we can allow 2 visitors on the floor at a time per patient. We understand this may be a hardship for many of you, but this decision was made for the health and safety of everyone.

Our outpatient services, are currently providing both in-person and telehealth services. Please refer to our Current Outpatient Therapy Services for more details.

Medical day care children and families continue to receive weekly deliveries of food, supplies and activities while also receiving telehealth services to ensure our children continue their care in a safe and effective manner. Please refer to our Current Medical Day Care Services for more details.

As we continue to adjust our services to meet your needs within the current environment, we understand this may be an inconvenience for you but please know we have your family’s best interest and safety in mind. We apologize in advance and ask for your patience as we work together to remain safe at this time but continue to provide the care your children deserve.

Please contact us if you have additional questions/concerns. We will continue to provide you with updates when appropriate.
